[General] All in one solution??

Can someone point me to an all in one solution that will provide me with DSL and 2 phone lines? I want to get away from verizon if possible. The phone line needs to be able to to FAX, dish network and an alarm system.

Thanks....

DSL is a local connection. Unless someone on this board is from Clementon New Jersey, there isn't going to be many suggestions. For what you want, and it NOT being with Verizon Ma'Bell, you're going to be limited. Any DSL is going to be using your phone lines. It can be a separate provider that has arrangements with Verizon for leasing the line. Contact the local DSL providers in your area and find out if they can provide you with DSL and Voip service. Finding an all in one is going to be difficult. The cable providers on the other hand do offer digital phone service. It's a lot more money usually though. Good luck. Later... Mike...

Well, you can always just go with a competitive local carrier such as Covad (we were using AT&T, for POTS!) and pretend it's not using the same Verizon copper and Verizon CO as it was before.

Any reason you prefer DSL to cable?

You can probably grab an "all in one, triple play" solution from your local cable company, though you'll pay a lot more than if you piece the technologies together yourself...

I have dish network for my TV. I got rid of comcast becuause in my area comcast picture quality is bad adn they tell me they can not fix this issues. The reason for me wantiung an all in one solution is that I need to add a a second phone line and if I can save $$$ by getting some kind of all in one other then comcast I would like. verizon is klind of high for what I currently have.

I did see speakeasy who does naked DSL but it looks more expensive then verizon and I do not know if their voip service will do fax and data.

No VOIP service can guarantee 100% the success of Fax. Hence the letter "V" for VOICE over IP. Ma'Bell and cable are about the only "All in Ones" you are going to find. If voip is what you want, and Ma'Bell is what you DON'T want, and Cable is something you want to stay away from, then your choices are limited. I suggest giving up on the ALL IN ONE idea. Find you BEST deal and service on broadband internet. Whether it's DSL, Naked DSL, Cable, Wireless, etc... Then set up your voip phone service with one of the providers that can meet your needs. FWIW, there are some providers like Packet8 and Vonage that do sell FAX specific voip lines. They run through dedicated servers and gateways and are many times more successful than fax over regular voip. Still, nothing is guaranteed 100%. Later... Mike...
