Re: Sipbroker (or similar) US Central Time talking clock

At one time TellMe was quite customizable -- it would let you register your phone number so that it knew your preferences for all sorts of things. If they still do that, you should be able to have them remember your time zone that way. (Worst case is they'll end up classifying every call from your VoIP provider as you.)

What I like about the FWD 612 service is that it's short and fast. I have it programmed into my ATA so all I have to do is dial "6" and within ten seconds I know the time. It's faster than the local time service, even speed-dialed, because there's less call setup time on VOIP, and less BS on the front end from the announcer.

Looks like my best option for central time is to put a clock in the garage. That's so 18th century, though.

If you can call 800 numbers for free try 1-800-555-TELL (1-800-555-8355) and just say time. I think it uses caller id to give your local timezone. Could someone please test it and post. I am in central timezone and that is what it gave me.
Not sure where they are located, but when I called using ViaTalk VOIP service, they gave me the correct Pacific time right away.

I have a local number to call that gives me the time as well, but this worked fine.
