Re: "walled garden" means we NEED Net Neutrality

Once the net neutrality legislation is passed, Verizon won't be able to charge a 'premium' to let users USE THEIR SERVICE. Verizon is a DATA SERVICE, and verizon has no right to decide WHAT data is transmitted over the network. Any attempt to regulate the content of a data stream is at least a privacy violation, and at most a violation of human rights.

Once the net neutrality legislation is passed

I hope so

Verizon won't be able to charge a 'premium' to let users USE THEIR SERVICE.

what about the arugument it our network we charge want we want similar to cable companies monoplies

and verizon has no right to decide WHAT data is transmitted over the network. Any attempt to regulate the content of a data stream is at least a privacy violation, and at most a violation of human rights.

what about all them anti kiddie porn people ? would argue otherwise when coming to adu;t content

Any attempt to regulate the content of a data stream is at least a privacy violation

what about large isp throttleing p2p traffic ? does it apply there ? most ip s address are logged does it apply there ?

and at most a violation of human rights

how does internet acess = human rights ? lost on that one

if there was aliens on the planet non human would human rights be racist ?

Re: "walled garden" means we NEED Net Neutrality

Ok, you guys didn't read the article. They are not doing something that should make you scream for Net Neutrality. They are not charging you extra from accessing YouTube via the EVDO service. They are charging extra for accessing YouTube via the VCast service. Two completely different services. All of these comments are based upon a bad assumption.
