| Glue on dashboard
Hello everyone,
I just got a new (to me) company truck and the guy that had it before used some kind of yellow glue to attach his satellite radio to the dash. This stuff has dried really hard and I can't seem to get it off. I have tried: Alcohol, Acetone, and some kind of glue remover with orange oil in it all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should try next.
I have sent the previous driver an email in hopes of getting a brand name of the glue used, but he has not responded yet.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. -- "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson |

| Well, I just talked to him and he used Gorilla Glue. Looks like I am stuck (no pun intended) with this stuff on my dash -- "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson |

| Yep, the truck is an 05 in really good condition so I was hoping to preserve the dashboard, but it looks like I either leave the glue there or destroy the dash getting it off. Oh well, at least it is not a vehicle I paid for. -- "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson |

| reply to parputt said by parputt :Well, I just talked to him and he used Gorilla Glue. When polyurethane glue like Gorilla Glue has cured it is now resistant to pretty much all chemicals and solvents. The only removal process left available for polyurethane glue is sanding or scraping sadly. It can be painted though. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

| you could put a yellow smiley face there - lol i once removed that type of glue using a plastic chisel and rubber mallet with minimal damage to the dashboard. -- S.C.P.D. Live Scanner Feed N.C.P.D. Live Scanner Feed |
