While not unusual you often get stuck with people like Eisner and be in the same situation Disney is in. Disney used to be a hallmark of American creativity. Now they have to pay another company to make movies for them and for everything else they just rehash the same old, same old.
Keeping a guy who understands the creativity that gives them a business in the first place can often be more powerful than a run-of-the-mill bean counter/manager.
