Re: Well, Mediacom HSI is back to crap in Mason City

Ok here is one for the "What the?!" section. I reset my modem and did a speed test to Chicago.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 443 kbps (55.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 470 kbps (58.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Good news! My upload speed is almost 500! BAD NEWS! My UL is faster then my download......whatever....

Did you wait a bit before you plugged it back in?

What type of modem do you have?

Get into your modem by typing this in Browser: »192.168.100.1

Post the signal levels please.

If this just started up for you its because Im sure of the speed increase. I noticed a huge drop today in speeds.
Reset modem twice and have the new speeds although they have dropped now but still faster than we were in the past.

I just reset everything again (I have vonage, guess that would be considered a router)

Last Result:
Download Speed: 650 kbps (81.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 469 kbps (58.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

DL is still total crap, but upload is about double what it should be (must be due to the increse). I can bet you money if I do this again around 8am it will be around 4700 download.....I will check my levels now.
