Re: Montgomery County, Maryland fios tv

Did you speak to the tech on the phone? What number?

I spoke to a FIOS tech this morning and they are in the process of training technicians for making the install. They predict that there will be a big demand and they are getting ready for that.

What tel number did you call to get that info? That would be terrific news if true.

Actually according to a Verizon tech, the 7-locks is all ready and they will take orders in 7 days (i.e. the 14).

Not such great news I'm afraid for those of us on the Bradley CO (seven locks and bradley). Bradley CO won't be lit for TV until mid 2007 so we will have to wait.
What's the source of this information? The Verizon rep told me 2 weeks.

I'm on another Bethesda CO (Woodacres) and just placed an order online for TV service. Everything went smoothly and it gave me an order tracking no. and installation date.

Curious thing, though--I currently have DSL and POTS on copper, and the order system did not require that I order up FIOS internet & phone service. At the end of the TV order process, it provided a link to "Add FIOS Internet Service". I tried that link, but the ordering system was down. Maybe Vz is not (yet) insisting on the removal of copper in my neighborhood...?
Update...
It was too good to be true. The on-line order system is screwy. I was on the phone with Vz today and I do have to get FIOS internet service in order to get FIOS TV. So bye bye DSL.

The Vz people could not access the order I placed online last night. Huh? Then they cancelled it and placed a new order for both FIOS internet and TV. They were very nice, but the entire phone session took over an hour. They did give me an earlier install date--12/14.

I called also and was told the same exact thing. They put me on a list and said it will be about two weeks before they will contact me. The next day I just happen to put in my phone number on the verizon internet page and "bingo", it read that my number was available for fios tv. I filled in all necessary info and was given an install date. Again, I've have had fios internet for over a year. I live in Wheaton.
