I've done about 200 installs and can't think of one funny story. No nekid chicks, nothin.

Had some painful moments with a ladder. Smashed my finger nail clear off at 75 feet with a hammer(darn U bolt would not give me the yagi back). Got stuck under a house AC system for about 20 minutes(at least thats how long it took to wiggle my way free).Favorite one, Got bit pretty bad by a dog and then yelled at by it's owner because I obviously must have upset that dog! I guess that one could classify as funny.

Well those are the ones I remember. I guess there was nothing special about the rest.

Is the collapsing of a section or two of the ladder a safety problem with that ladder? That might worry me.

Other then that, the ladder looks pretty neat.

Adding to the "Funniest Install" thread, I was once climbing this same ladder to get on a roof, and my phone rang. It was actually the guy who gave me the ladder. So I answered the phone and continued on up the ladder. It was extended up to full height, and It only just reached the roof of this particular house. I was just about to climb off it onto the roof and one of the sections collapsed. This made the ladder lower than the height of the roof, so it started to fall over. One of my legs went through a rung on the ladder and the other leg didn't. I didn't sacrifice my balls fortunately, I just bruised the back of my leg slightly. Anyway, there was a porch there, so there was no wall for the ladder to fall against, it just fell over. I found myself sitting on the ground after a 12' fall and still talking on the phone to the guy as if nothing had happened. I told him I'd just fallen off a ladder, but he didn't take much notice and just kept talking.

Another time my grandfather was on a ladder. He was like 72 at the time. the ladder was leaning against a 4x4 post, and he was leaning out to one side. The ladder slipped off the post and he started to go down. I was fairly close by and I jumped to try and take some of the shock of him landing, but got there too late and basically fell on top of him. Anyway he said he didn't want me telling anyone he fell of that ladder. He said "I rode that thing all the way to the ground".

It's not a little giant. Not sure what brand it is but I've seen several similar ones. A friend gave it to me because he got a new one. It's made of aluminum, pretty light and easy to carry under on arm. Not at all bulky. It looks very simlar to this one:

Beebe:

Is that one of the Little Giant ladders?

How heavy is your ladder? Is that the one that extends 12.5 feet?

I might want to get one.

Everyone who sees the ladder comments on it and wants to keep it. It's really handy and it'll get me on 95% of roofs around here. Most houses are single storey. Collapses to around 3' long. Handy for carrying inside the house too if needed to get into the attic.

It's the only ladder I carry around with me unless there's a special need for a longer one.
