I wonder if local wimax ISPs some time in the near future will not bring about some change in that? Thoughts?

Clearwire has just started offering wimax service to much of the Seattle metro area. But with a top download speed of 1.5mbit, it's not much of a competitor to the local DSL or cable offerings. It would be attractive if the only alternative was sat-based offerings, but it's not really much of an option to the local duopoly.
