Secunia insecure Software Inspector

Feature Overview - The Secunia Software Inspector:
* Detects insecure versions of applications installed
* Verifies that all Microsoft patches are applied
* Assists you in updating your system and applications
* Runs through your browser. No installation or download is required.

How Does it Work:

The Secunia Software Inspector relies on carefully crafted "Secunia File Signatures" to recognise applications on your system. The detected applications are then matched against our "Secunia Advisory Intelligence" to determine whether an application is up-to-date or not. The results are then used to advise you on how to update to more secure releases of the insecure applications.

I just seen this on Sunbelt blogs, great online scan. They're leaders in posting vulnerabilities, so it's good that they got an application like this .

Thanks Spanner.
I ran the program and have several old versions of Macromedia Flash Player and 1 old Adobe Flash Player.
They don't seem to exist on my system.
Do you know where they might be hidden so I can delete them?
Thanks, Dan

If you click on the + by them, it shows where they are located. I then did a search for each one on my computer and deleted them from there.

I noticed if you click on the flash player or the Adobe it says to contact the co. on how to remove older versions.
I think I'll do that to see what they say.

I was missing 1 MS patch, due to something I installed and forgot to check for patches. Additionally, Flash 6 was vulnerable. I do recall MS releasing a patch in the last set of Windows updates to patch a vulnerability in Flash 6. Thought that had taken care of it. Guess not. After updating Flash in IE to 9 (I use Flash 9 on FF), I was still getting the Flash 6 Vulnerability. Turns out you need to remove the Flash 6 ocx file. You can use the Flash Uninstaller or probably just delete the file "Flash6.ocx" from "WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash", however the first method (uninstaller) is probably cleaner as it'll remove the 4 or so registry entries as well.

They are merely registry entries. Take a closer look at the Secunia reults; namely, expand the plus sign to the left of the results. Leave them alone.

All past versions of Macromedia are now uninstalled.
Googled flash uninstaller and softpedia had the uninstaller.
Took out the last stubborn one I had, version 7.
Showing all green checks now at Secunia!

Thanks for the link. I've been contemplating deploying new versions of java/flash/adobe reader on our work PCs. This scanner is a little reminder that I need to get on it soon, as all of the versions we currently have deployed are vulnerable.

Used this the first time but would not remove Macromedia Flash 7.
That's why I googled it and used the uninstaller specifically for that version.
