Same thing here in NY

Here in Albany, NY a Time Warner technican tore apart all the wiring in the basement for their digital phone service. When I canceled Digital phone and got Verizon they were angered they had to fix all the wiring Time Warner tore apart.

"tore apart" means they disconnected you from a powered Verizon line and connected your house to the VOIP service... thats a good thing. Verizon techs hate to do ANY work...especially the old NYNEX union boys.

Re: Same thing here in NY

I've dealt remotely with NYNEX / Bell Atlantic union folks in MD before, and its no picnic. Had a bad CSU/DSU, and nobody would touch it ... we were told to send a union tech to replace it
When I had a similar outage with SBC/PacBell in CA, they swapped out with a spare within an hour and told us to get a replacement and ship it to them.

Hey Macaholic, I'm one of those union boys. And why does it appear that if your unhappy with our(VZ) work quality, why would you have a Verizon DSL line, where you would go out and post a review of it??? Yeah i get pissed if a customer bitches and moans about there inside wire problem, and want's fix, and yet doesn't want to pay for it, let alone pay for any inside wire insurance. Please cancell your line, and please we don't want you as a FIOS customer either!!!

I HAD a Verizon DSL line.... my cousin once had issues with DSL. Had to file a presidential appeal. A Union pr*ck like you showed up and told her they sent the wrong guy. We call the Presidential appeal office.. and wouldn't you know the SAME guy shows up and fixes her problem in the basement the very next day. He grumbled the whole way through he actually had to do some real work instead of eating donuts... sorry fella but you old NYNEX boys are pr*cks plain and simple. If it weren't for your union you lazy asses would be slinging burger somewhere.

I'm from Albany, NY too and didn't notice my Time Warner technician tearing anything apart. Disconnecting the phone so that he could connect it to the digital phone system? Yes. Tearing it out so that it wouldn't work anymore? No. (Then again, we haven't tried to switch back to Verizon. And aren't likely to.)
