Move out of the way Comcast

I got this on my door today.

Looks like there is some competition in town for Comcast Muwhahaha

With Comcast killing people »Comcast Contractor Held For Double Murder and »Comcast raising rates again in the Bay Area, this is much needed here in the Bay Area.

It's too bad AT&T makes you bundle everything.

U200 with AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Express
Enjoy more than 190 channels included in our basic packages starting at just $74 per month. The service price includes up to 3 receivers, one with a digital video recorder (DVR).

That's not too bad, but it certainly could be cheaper. I doubt they are going to steal too many customers with those prices.

Sweet! I hope they unleash it in San Francisco real soon. Last April I noticed 2 shiny new ATT boxes here in the Presidio where we live. I stopped to talk to the guy who had one open. He told me that it was for Lightspeed. I've had my fingers crossed since then. Hope this is finally gonna happen as I can't wait to ditch Comcrap.

I Just spit out my drink.

AFAIK, U-verse means really close fiber...and yes, I am jealous.

Now that I have been basking in 133t DSL for about a month, after waiting for like 8 years....I want more....

Are you listening, ATT? I will buy the whole enchilada if you will only bring it to me!

Well, it looks like they're going to experiment on the tutle, so hopefully it will be come more widespread as time goes on.

Right, but that experiment needs a norm, right? A "control group"?

I volunteer to be the control group for the ninjatutle See Profile experiment.

It's a good scenario...city vs. rural, three legs vs. two legs, Cable Availablity vs. Not Even a Liquor Store Around Here, etc...

U-Verse, U-Verse, U-Verse, Oooh RAaah!

I don't mind being a guinea pig. Its better then the choices I have now. Besides, its only cable tv, what could go wrong.

The best part is now Comcast has some real competition in the area which is good for us all.

Livermore was supposed to get it even before san ramon was, but too many people started bitching about the extra boxes they needed to install, even though theyd most likely be next to existing DSLAMs. Now we gotta wait for who knows how long

I don't understand - I just ordered Comcast internet (had DSL for years, never cable) and I'm getting 22Mb/s burst with 6-7Mb/s sustained. How is this U-verse service any better?
