You also can run m0n0 on a 16 MB CF card - pfSense has a much bigger footprint.

This is my take on these two "related" open source projects:

pfSense is definitely better for faster X86 CPU boards since it offers many more features. But m0n0wall is faster and simpler on slower X86 CPU on WRAP or Soekris used by many WISPs.

I am expecting m0n0wall 1.3 to handle 2 Atheros on WRAP 233Mhz but have to confirm with some field tests over the holidays.

FWIW, pfsense (a fork of m0n0) has been running 6.x from the get-go.

Of course it can talk to a Cisco VPN server. Not sure how else either of these posts relate to Cisco though.

Just a heads up to you all running m0n0. This new beta uses FreeBSD 6.2 RC1, so it actually has usable support for wireless cards.Also, m0n0wall can now be booted completely from USB (thumb) drives.

I plan on updating tonight and will report any problems.
