You mean companies that want no competition? That would be a classic case of the DRM-pushers and walled-garden mental defectives substituting wishful thinking for good business judgment.

If Skype can deliver, why not deal with them?

My guess is that they would have to make serious amends that go beyond the legal settlement they made. Maybe they'll need to first be purchased by a media giant.
