Open up Firefox, homepage pops up.. scroll down to see most popular posts, look out for one from the New York forum.. read the headline, tears...

This news is so hard to take in.

My condolences to his family.

Even though I never got to meet him personally, he was always kind to me on the forums, and so many of you are talking about how much nicer he was in person.

Rich was a nice guy and will be sorely missed.
Makes you realize: Here today, gone tomorrow and it could happen to any of us.
Very sad. I sat next to him at the LI meet and greet and he made me laugh with his story about his trip to LI and his attempts to take photos along the scenic parkways.

He passed away the monday after our Brooklyn M&G on Saturday. I was truly lucky to have met him when I did otherwise I may never have. I'm thankful for that opportunity

Horrible news

My condolences go out to his family.

I'm glad that I had an opportunity to get to know Rich at several of the NY forum M&G's.

He will be missed!

It was today that I came to realize how strong the bond is between all of you as a group on here. I am somewhat new to here and have only just gotten to know a few of you a bit. From reading the post I can see that I have missed out on meeting in RL what would have been a great friend. I offer this prayer and hope sometime soon I may meet his great friends who have shown what the word friendship means.

"Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of Rich, show us the immense power of Your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your Presence. Amen."

I offer up my own humble condolences too.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Rich or getting to know him, but he sounds like a terrific person!

May he rest in peace.

I never met him either but had I not had other plans I was considering going to the 12/2 get together. I am sorry now that I didn't get to meet him and I want to extend my condolences to his family, I will keep them in my good thoughts.

It's always very sad when we see somebody pass away especially when it is before their time. I just learned a coworker for 10 years suffered a similar fate despite appearing to be in excellent health.

How about a donation to the American Heart Association in his honor. They work hard to prevent these sudden unexpected deaths and educate people on maintaining a healthy heart. If you do it in the next 11 days you can write it off on your 2006 return.

As I get older, each year I see the greatness of philanthropy more and more.

If you can't donate money you can always volunteer time. I would love to donate time but it is much harder than donating money for me. If have family issues which require my time so I donate money. If I cut back on one Starbucks coffee a day, I can come up with about an additioanal $700/yr to donate to my favorite charities. What's more important coffee or saving lives?

This is the time of year for giving. Kind words and condolences are great but philantrophy takes it to another level.

Happy Holidays to all. Best wishes for good health for everybody in the new year. Remember it is better to give than to receive.

Never met him but the fact of him being a member here is a great loss for all of us. Seemed like the type of person that can make anyone smile.
