1 edit | Merry Christmas from Verizon FIOS
I received my availability letter from Verizon yesterday. I can get 5/2 for $3 less per month than I'm paying for Comcast's 6/384 tier.
I've been trying from months to make sense out of the cacophony of voices in the Speed Upgrade thread. I give up. Powerboost seems to have accomplished its desired purpose - to muddy the waters.
If anyone knows whether Comcast plans to raise its upload speed in the near future, let me know and I'll stick with Comcast. Otherwise I'm out of here.

However, if FIOS is in your neighborhood, I thought that Comcast was going to 16/1 -- - Bill |

I'd rather support Verizon, a company that is making a huge infrastructure investment, and offering new services encouraging competition, rather than a company that only reacts when forced to like Comcast. |

| reply to rdmiller We have FIOS in our neighbor and can get 6/768 or 16/1 from Comcast. I got FIOS and then cancelled it after the trial period and stuck with Comcast. The FIOS technology is great but I didn't see any great advantage in my area and Verizon customer service will make you cry. -- Joyeux Noël et une bonne et heureuse nouvelle année |

15/2 for $44.95 vs. $52.95 for 8/768 isn't much of a comparison.
Even the 5/2 for $34.95 vs. 6/384 for $42.95 can't be beat. -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

If it wasn't for cable systems offering Internet, Verizon would still be on DSL.
