I would be willing to pay for videos. But, only if they are reasonably priced, high quality and DRM-free.
I can already "pirate" all of the Doctor Who series. This will always be the case whether or not they include DRM or not. So, why would I pay for something of lower quality than what I can download? DRM is not a feature, but instead an insult to the customer. It is annoying and it slows down the playback. |

| I doubt the DRM crippled copies will be better than what I can already get, probably won't be as good. The ones I've seen are in 16x9 aspect and are better quality than SciFi's broadcasts (though at least SciFi's copies are better quality for season 2/28 than they were for 1/27). As it was, I bought the 1/27 boxset from amazon.ca a couple days after it was released, so they made their money from me.
(And Kudos to SciFi for the fastest US broadcast for a new season - best I saw previously was when PBS ran season 24 at the end of 1989) |
