lol ... Comcast has added a "Yule Log" to HD Ondeamnd. It's 95min long and it is a fireplace with Christmas music playing in the background haha ... it was pretty interesting. It looks good though ha! Well, Merry Christmas.

The yule log was a big tradition, especially in the NYC area. I'm not sure if it was big in other parts of the country, but we always had it around here - my grandmother said it was on TV when SHE was a kid!

... and it will be on a few home shopping channels, a handful of other networks, INHD like you said, and usually a local station, or here two, will air it.
It's nothing new, except to OnDemand. 
However, there are also some Gallery Player OnDemand titles. Winter Wonderland and Holiday Scenes.. They play for about 30 minutes and are images of .. well, you get it.

In Baltimore County it's "On demand", "top picks", "holiday favorites" in standard definition as well as HD.

That sounds pretty cool? Ill have to look for that. We always turn the tv off for dinner and especially christmas dinner. I have a feeling with the whole fmaily over it will either be the HOLIDAY music channel or one of those gallerys..
The Yule log is good for later at night. Tradition.

CW11 in NY has the yule log on from 9am to 12 noon on Monday followed by a "History of" program about the yule log which they started showing in 1966. |

There's a very good alternative showing, "Seasons Greetings from Yellowstone - Nature" on PBS-HD. Nothing but winter scenes from Yellowstone National Park and Christmas music. However, I believe that's its only available to those who are in the local PBS/Thirteen HD market. |

It was on our local access channel which I work at and for some reason our new broadcast system "since we just moved into a new studio" has decided to broadcast random sound effects over all broadcasts. Such as boinging, a car engine, and a star trek transporter noise.
I'll have to call them this week or go in and see if they know what's going on. Nothing like watching the Yule lo.. BOING BOING "Star Trek Transport" "fire crackeling" VROOOM!
