1 edit | [TWC] Master Speed Upgrade Thread
I wanted to start a thread comparing the different speeds around the country and keep everyone updated. It used to be simple when Road Runner was 5/384 and 8/512 but now some areas are getting boosted up to 10Mb, some only 7Mb and upload speed upgrades are inconsistent from one franchise to the next. If your area got the speed increase, please post the new speed for both Road Runner and Road Runner Premium. This is more or less intended for TW subscribers, but if you have BHN, what the hell, post too Ill start
CALIFORNIA Los Angeles, California (Southern California) Road Runner - 6Mb/512Kb Road Runner Extreme - 10Mb/1Mb

I'm in Goshen, NY. Still no speed upgrade yet but I'm hoping to see it on the first day of the new year.

| According to the many posts of opinions and questions regarding the speed upgrades, I've seen that it's going to be coming as soon as the New Year starts. (To me that means that starting 12:00 AM January 1st, 2007 they will be provisioning everyone's modems.) It makes sense since most people won't even be home or on-line on New Years so it will be so much easier for them to do a massive overhaul when no ones on-line. I'm curious to see what other people are going to post in this topic, so like you, I will wait to see if anyone has anything different to say besides what I said already. Hope this helps you out! Happy Holidays!

| reply to jwardl Rebooted modem, used everyone's favorite speed test site. Still nada. You'd think one of the largest markets in the country would get better, but, alas, no widespread competition -- YET. |

| I was curious as to what bandwidth service classes folks have. I have been keeping track of the numbers and here is the list I have thus far: 001 5/384 004 4/384 013 10/1 016 15/2 018 020 8/512 021 022 9/1 028 7/768 029 7/2 032 8/768
Obviously, I am missing some but I think this would be a good number to track. In case you don't know where to get this, do this: 1.) Go here: »»https://provselfcare.orange.rr.com/
2.) Select Division from drop down menu.
3.) Type in your completed email name and password. Click Logon
4.) Click on the blue box (center/top) named "Modem Information"
5.) Click on "View Service"
6.) Look where it states "Services:" and to the right, look down at the bottom. What is the # after the words "Bandwidth service class"? |
