Looks like the Waco, TX Division has gotten the upgrade. I rebooted modem this morning and am now at 10/1, (or is there a 10/768 class??) up from 8/512. Yay!

Then again you are on the standard (grandfathered Adelphia) tier of 4000/384 and netbob is on the "Premiere" tier of 8000/786. He's also paying extra for that speed.
So, if you want the speeds he has, you have to pay more. -- Don't mind me, I'm just trying to help...

Well, Time Warner has been Crap since I have been transitioned over to it. Now that they (TW) have a Monopoly in most of there Business Areas, they will do what they want, when they want, and the End User (us), will get screwed. Here in Marion, Ohio. We have already made a Public announcement to Welcome anyone to bring TV and ISP to our city to compete with TW. We have already approved it for Verizon if they decide to deploy here. I am just hoping and praying that Verizon, or ANYONE else will come here to let us have a choice. We do have a choice of Verizon DSL, but ........ I live in a family where there is three computers and each are gaming PC's, and DSL just will not do what we need it for. |

Either it's comcast or time warner, but either way it's a cable monopoly - supported by city and state governments. Maybe post on topic and post your speeds to be of some benefit to us all. -- |- The LP »www.lp.org/issues/issues.shtml -| |- Cato @ Liberty »www.cato-at-liberty.org -| |

1 edit | A cable company can set up shop in any town they wish, even if there is another one there. In other words, Comcast can come into TW systems and build there own if they so choose, it isnt typically done because it wouldnt make sense to compete with a system already there, either way, just because no one CHOOSES to come in and compete, the word monopoly shouldnt be thrown around like the cable company already there is this big bad entity.
EDIT-- Since we are talking speeds, heres what we got in Maine: |
