Re: Law Enforcement and cracking my puter

In order for SWAT to be involved they must suspect child pornography or sales and distribution of copywritten materials. Either fit the situation?

I agree!
Some seriously BAD stuff happening for SWAT to be involved!

Simple copyright infringement gets you a summons, not SWAT!

It has been quite a few years since I had an encounter with Utah law enforcement, but my experience was that they were rather relaxed and laid back.

I was going "pedal to the metal" on a long lonely strech of rural Utah highway (I am not sure exactly how fast I was going but the speedometer was pegged past the 120 mph mark). Suddenly a Utah highway patrol car raced up behind me (seemingly from nowhere) like the proverbial bat out of hell. As the officer passed me, he slowed down to pace me for a fraction of a second, and mouthed what looked like "slow down, drive safely", then he smiled, waved and accelerated off into the horizon. He was so courteous, that I did slow down to around 100 mph until I got near the next town where I slowed down to a normal "east coast" speed.
