DiamondCS forums officially closed

What a sad thing for Christmas. Paul Wilders has finally made the long expected, but very much not wanted announcement that DiamondCS forums are closed for good. ProcessGuard is one of my two or three most favorite applications so it is with great regret that I, and all the others, see its demise.

As many already know Wayne has not posted for two months , has a overflowing PM box, and Wilders has been unable to contact him. Purchasers of Port Explorer have not gotten their unlock codes, all sorts of bad things. Gavin also has not posted in a very long while. Wilders gave DiamondCS every chance to set things right and waited as long as they could before shutting down the forums. I hoped against hope that Wayne would pop up soon and explain everything as PG is a great application and it is a tremendous loss that it will no longer be developed.

"....we are sad to announce DCS does no longer live up to the standards set as mentioned above, although we have provided the company in question quite a long time to live up to those standards again.

As a result, we have no choice left other then closing as well as archiving all (sub)forums from DCS. We do advise those having paid for software but never received keys, serial numbers, etc. to contact the appropriate channel(s) in order to get a refund."

Not sad at all, it can't surprise anyone who have witnessed the way they have handled themself for a long while now. There are other fish in the pond.

It is IMO good for the credibility of Wilders, DCS lost theirs a long time ago.

Personally I am sad to see this happen, there may be a lot of factors unknown to us. Poor health, unexpected financial problems or legal issues.

I think it is a big blow to the computing world anytime we loose producers of quality products.

This is just my opinion of course.

Nothing sad about it as far as I'm concerned. Wayne has been a shady character for quite some time. I actually overlooked the incident where he put a trojan into TDS-3 in order to shut down pirated copies (I owned a legitimate copy.) I lost all respect for him the way he handled the TDS-4 fiasco. Telling people for YEARS that TDS-4 was "just around the corner...it will be well worth the wait, so buy TDS-3 NOW!" But the part that really ticked people off was the manner in which he dumped the product. Kept taking orders right up until the end, and then on a Friday, announced "NO MORE TDS-3." Since they are closed on the weekends, they let their customers stew for several days before giving any further explanation. Yep, top notch customer service.

Maybe Wilders should now give BOClean their own forum, nobody comes close to their customer service.

I'm not really surprised to hear of their demise. After the way they treated their customers of TDS, maybe karma came back to bite them. I'm surprised but not happy. I think DCS had some decent products still to offer. Anyone know of a good HIPS replacement for ProcessGuard?

OH wait so there won't be TDS-4??? or the NEXT BEST THING SINCE THE SLICE BREAD AFTER ALL THE RESOURCES FROM TDS-3 WERE RELOCATED TO WORK ON THE NEXT BEST THING??? Oh wait this is 2006 and not 2005 or 2004. So the free upgrade I got to PG after my TDS-3 lic just got nuked was worth nothing since it was just a long string of beta testing the PG technology??? So the whole thing about PG technology being just a stepping stone to the next greatest thing was a lie???? OH NO I AM SO SHOCKED!!!
But now all sarcasm off, I only upraded to PG right after I received my free copy after the TDS-3 went defunct. Tried the PG, had a large number of BSOD or other problems, unisntalled it, never went back since. So after TDS-3 I never had any use for DiamondCS. I had a huge regard for them in the best and I really bought into their TDS-4 hype but after TDS-3 went down I lost all hope. Even thought now looking at my virus submission e-mail I still have them in my submission macro. I guess it's time to delete it now

Now NANCY AND KEVIN, STAND FAST PLEASE DO NOT GO THE WAY OF DODO YOU ARE THE LAST ONES OF THE "REAL" Anti-malware companies that give a damn.

merry xmas,

If it still works fine for you and performs as you desire, there's really no need to change, at least in the near term and possibly for the forseeable future. If it doesn't work as desired, there are plenty of alternate options available these days from many vendors.

A sad end to a company that at it's height had some good products (TDS-3, Wormguard and the freeby RegProt)and a lot of potential for the future. This isn't surprising given the events of the past couple of years and the many broken promises to their customers. Just a tremendous waste.

Do you think they actualy have time? It doesn't sound like it to me. I heard Kevin was cloned so that he could answer all the e-mails he gets now
The only thing is the cloning went aray and his clone ended up with two heads.
Has not beed a surprise to me since my last post on PG
and wondering why no answer. You ask about Gavin? I am sure he knows now that he works for a different company.

Ah yes, I do seem to remember this forum, however, there's no doubt that Wilder's is more widely known.

If I remember correctly, I think the subject of a BOClean forum at Wilder's was brought up at one time but the owners of that site didn't feel it would be fair to have 2 anti-trojan competitors both having an "official" presence at Wilders, so BOClean got moved to the "other" category.

Thanks hayc59, I, probably in the minority, didn't know that.

I feel extremely sad to see this happening !

Yes, I had the "feeling" this was coming...
I don't understand why this had to happen one day before Christmas.

Most probably more to come when I'm home and logged on.

My thoughts now go out to Wayne.

I didn't fall for it..

I actually remember asking in a demanding way, "When is TDS 4 coming out?" at Wilders years ago. Even got a couple of nasty PM's telling me I was troublemaker and I should keep my mouth shut. If there were 3 things, or, excuse me, 4 things I could not stand.. were Gavin, Wayne, their company, and their arguments with Andreas from "A2"...

Thank God those ridiculous arguments chilled out now..
