| amysheehan, I do believe you've hit the nail on the head. I didn't realize that was available in control panel. On the general tab, mine states it is set to interactive versus express mode. Consequently, I infer the choice to install will be offered if updates are available. I am going to leave it running for now.
Another question, will Norton install updates now via a limited user account? |

EDIT TO ADD: Using a limited user account - try manually running LU -- What happens ???? -- DSLR Phishtracker |

| reply to planet Interactive will not prevent automatic updates from applying. Express mode is just a very simplified, non-interactive UI for manual updates.
Most updates will apply via a limited user account. In some cases the updates won't be downloaded and their entries will "fail" indicating that the user does not have appropriate access. |

Update failed. Doesn't look like limited will install.

Confusing since it says in interactive mode, you select the updates you want to install.
Edit: I'll probably end up unchecking via control panel since my routine is boot up to admin, update security software and log out to a limited user account. |
