Looking to get a text pager. Which is better?

I have not used a pager in 7 years and did not think they still made them. Anyway, i cannot afford my current sprint account and will be cancelling my account as it has balloned to about 200 dollars on avg per month for 700 mins family plan on 4 lines. We never go over 700 minutes but it just adds up that way. My plan is to get myself a pre-paid phone and a pager. Ill use the text pager to get messages from work and brink some milk messages from the wife and kids. What are the best service providers for both prepaid cell phone and pager service. I would need the ability to get about 500-1000 text messages per month and do not plan on using more than 400 minutes of cell phone service. Any help will be appreciated.

T Mobile still does pagers, my brother pays $100 per year for the pager. T-Mobile Prepaid $100 cards get you 1000 mins plus 15% extra on each reload, minutes on $100 card don't expire for a year.

You would pay about 10 cents a min for voice service, with Text messaging ($0.10 to send, $0.05 to receive)

At your est it would be $25 for texts per month, and $40 for the voice. So $65 in total.

P.S. Sprint is @#@$, I was with them for 5 years, I paid $29 for 400 mins with them. I never really use my phone so I would only use 140 mins a month, so I'm going prepaid too in 3 months.

I'm with T-Mobile now, and I never have anymore fishbowl calls, Sprint's call capacity sucks.

You can try trac-phone as for paging services, there are many. I would recommend the last model of the Motorola pagers. I had those for two year's and way long ago but never any issues with them and battery life was superb.
