Re: so it's moderately thundering and raining..

Same storm I'm in FWIW...I lost sync when I had to unplug the modem to paint the wall.

Might have a marginal fault on the phone line. Wet splice causes grounds, shorts, and imbalances which hurt DSL service. Gotta go through the basic troubleshooting first to figure out what we have wrong.

lightning can wreck havoc on dsl especially with it being a marginal connection. EMP, i think that's what it's called.

:) I think it's called EMI, Electromagnetic Interference. Lord knows it wreaks havoc on my DSL connection, unless I'm using my 2 Wire; instead of disconnects, I get lag, but I'm not complaining...much..

I was having the same problems with my DSL 3.0 drooping out doing thunderstorms. I had a tech to come out and he said that I needed to drop back down to 1.5. The tech said something about being to far out from the CO, and something about my DSL bottlenecking, etc. I did not understand allot he had to say. So I drooped my DSL back down to 1.5 and I have not had anymore problems with my DSL drooping out.
