My Renewal is coming up. If I get $24.99 Pro for a year contract, will I get one month free and a $75 gift card? |

| You won't get a gift card. That is for new customers only.
You should be able to get a contract with a free month if you ask for it or at least that is what we have heard. I don't think anyone has reported signing for a contract at the new rates. People have only asked for the new mo-to-mo rates when their existing contracts expire. |

2 edits | The mother ship's been busy. When I'm on my SBCatt Yahoo! home page, I go to My Account and there is a new link: Upgrade now - higher speed at a lower price.
Clicking the new link takes me to the upgrade/renewals page for SBCatt ( HERE . )
I enter my phone number and POOF they tell me I am only able to renew at my current speed and offer both monthly and contract rates which are the same.
Clicking on the "package" with a one-year term gets a screen that tells me:
Special Offer
Order now for $24.99 per month with 12-month term and receive 1 month FREE. (Bill credit applied no earlier than the 4th month of service. Residential Internet customers only. See complete offer details.) Also, receive a $49.99 mail-in rebate toward the purchase of a $79.99 AT&T Wireless Gateway (applicable taxes and a shipping and handling fee for customer self-install orders will apply).
Clicking the same place for the month-to-month offer drops the free month but continues to offer the rebate on the modem.
Italics and bold added to indicate the pasted text. Looks like "everyone treated the same" has a wrinkle or two depending on what they want to offer you as incentives.
EDIT TO ADD: Info about modem rebate only if renew at month-to-month rate.

| I don't know about the over the phone offer.
I did just edit my post to indicate if you click on the month-to-month, there is still a modem offer.

| Actually the free month credit with a contract may soon be a moot point anyway:
From the fine print details:
HIGH-SPEED INTERNET 1-MONTH CREDIT WITH 12-MONTH TERM: ... blah ... blah ... blah Promotional incentive offer ends 12/31/06. |

1 edit | I called today, because I've been paying $39.99 for the propackage. Told them I noticed the newer rate of $24.99/month and if I would be able to get the lower rate. (It's the same package I'm on). They said sure! It's 24.99/month and i'm on a month to month plan. She said if I signed up for the 1-year contract the only difference would be I get the (3rd or 4th) month free.
Something along those lines. |

| Same problem here. I called them up tonight telling that we've been paying 40$ for what seems to be a basic package rate (we get the usual 20 KB/s download) for about 2 years now. We became a SBC/ATT Yahoo! DSL customer late 2004/early 2005 when the promo was ~25$/mo for dsl. The rep said that there had been a problem in our area because it originally wasn't covered by yahoo dsl at that time (we're just down South Bay Area). Then I heard about the last year's 14$/mo deal which I TOTALLY IGNORED BECAUSE the ads mentioned it's only for new customers
The guy said our connection will be re-rated to the 19.99$ 784 Kbps-1.5 Mbps speed. I feel that we got ripped off for the past two years.
My question is, should we ask for either a refund or a higher speed rate but only pay 19.99$ a month? |

I thought the 3 mbps pro package is only $17.99 with one year term. So there is no online sign up. I have to call them to get the 1 or 2 months free offer. I still have a few months left. Also can you get a free modem? Do you call them before or after the term ends? |

It was offered last July when my Express contract expired.
Last I heard it ended with the October price changes. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
