thanks for the link and walk through, although it didn't work, it is for msn 9 and i am running a newer version of msn. tried all the stuff it suggested to do and had no success, anyone else have any ideas?

That's actually the only way to backup your favorites. Which part stopped working? Maybe the walkthrough missed a step we need to include.

if i remember correctly i was unable to locate the correct file folder. maybe i am just not that skilled lol.. ah well who say knowledge comes with age lol.

Ok, I have to admit I didn't click on the link for the walkthough on how to unhide files and folders and just assumed they were linking to a valid webpage. Because the webpage didn't exist, that's why it didn't give you complete instructions. Sorry about that.

There's a lot ways you COULD do it, but the easiest way is probably to use Windows Live Favorites to get your bookmarks off of the MSN software, then once you have them all in Windows Live Favorites you could import them to IE, or just leave them in the live favorites.
