·RoadRunner Cable

Is Joost the future?

Is Joost the business model that the major networks and studios will use to distribute media in the future?

Cable ends a few miles down the road.

So if I was to get an invite to Joost I would jump at the chance
Sounds like it could become an option for those who can get DSL but not cable.

Joost is fun, but I'd be willing to bet that once it goes live that ISPs will start throttling it. It's a big bandwidth hog.
With it's current line-up there is no way that it is going to compete with cable. I'd be really interested to see what they offer when it goes live.

Joost or something similar sounds like the real reason the carriers are against net neutrality.

Direct download from the vendor results in increased income from larger bandwidth purchases.
Joost spreads that bandwidth usage around existing customers, no increased bandwidth sales.
