Delaware County, PA almost done 16/2 node upgrades

Just talked to my area tech and he said the snow slowed them
down a lot but they are now back on track and this area
should be upgraded in 2 to 3 weeks unless it snows a lot more.

he also said he could see which nodes in this area are
already upgraded on his screen. The new nodes say 1.6 in
the info listed for that node and the old ones say .8

I laughed and said "i take it my node says .8 still huh"
and he said yes.

he said he saw nodes just 10 minutes away from me listed as 1.6
(and he is correct as a friend of mine has 16/2 not far from here)
he then said most of the time they wait for the whole county to be
upgraded before turning it on for everyone (unless they are testing)

anyway just some food for thought

LOL! had to laugh at that, but better than Perry county. Hope we all get the faster speeds soon.

You know that's not 16/768. It's PowerBoost.

Well - I'll tell you what.

I called Comcast the other day and I asked them if they even knew anything about these 16 Meg speeds. The person was completely oblivious to this and said that 8 Megs is the fastest speed she was aware of. What I don't quite understand is... if there are people on the 16 Meg service and this 1-800-Comcast is not a local number then HOW do these people who work up there not know about the 16 Meg service?

Unless they are intentional playing dumb... I don't know what else could be the issue as to how these techs know nothing of the faster speeds. At least tell me my area is not ready... not that "I don't have any idea of what you are talking about" and "You have been misinformed". Very frustrating!

I wish someone - anyone could tell me if/when Lancaster, PA will have the 16/1 or 16/2. Especially since other areas in PA close by have it already...

When I call in I get routed to the New Castle Delaware call center. We used to be serviced by the Lebanon, PA call ceneter but they switched it back to Delaware. They are aware of the package down there. The first question back from them is what County do you live in.

FWIW I don't use the 800-Comcast number. I just dial 610-296-5100.

We have had 16/1 for a few months now in Bucks County. 16/2 would still be sweet. I only pay for the 6/768 tier though. Cant justify that extra $10 yet.

People say the 6/768 tier is an old tier? Or do some places offer that.

no it is 16/2 in select areas which you are not in.

did you even read my post? A friend of mine ALREADY HAS 16/2
(he was asked if he wanted to beta test it back in December and
of course he said YES)

Also BILLING said my account was assigned 16/2 upgrade status but was
not able to be activated for obvious reasons.

I also asked my LOCAL office if it was 16/1 or 16/2 and then said 16/2
for select areas. they said i was in one of those areas

note my brother switched to verizon FiOS in the summer. He lives about
15 minutes from me and just this week he DUMPED comcast TV for verizon
FiOS TV which went live last week in our area. In these parts you can now
get rid of comcast totally. So you can see we are in a main battle front
between comcast and verizon for ALL services.

Now you now what a select area means

yeah B ucks County was upgraded before us. In fact according to my local
tech Montgomery (Not sure i spelled that correctly lol) county was before
bucks and comcast is now working their way back towards delaware
and why Delaware county, PA is being done now before they jump the
state line into Delaware itself (I assume newcastle is top of list then)

I'm on the Media/Springfield boarder. I think I have the
6down 384up plan. I allways get 370up on the test I use. But down bursts to 16 0r higher, then drops to 10 or so. So, lets assume I have the basic plan. Will I be getting 16/1 or if not what should I expect? Thanks.
