Before Ordering Just had a couple of questions..

Hey teksavvy guys, I had a couple of quick questions before signing up, I know it's sunday and i left a msg on you toll no . anways obviously im sure ur all getting some deserved r and r.

First i'll be doing a lot of torrents and i want to also get into newsgroups (i know ill need to pay 4 bucks for the static ip) I am not sure what residential service i should sign up for...premium or just the same residential service, i heard one is better for pings and online gaming over torrents (i'm more interested in downloading at hi speed not games)

also i have a phone alarm system that goes through my telephone line so i've ordered a filter form the alarm company, is there anything else that i will need to avoid service disruptions?

I looked up how far i am away from the bell co box or whatever...i'm not sure how this will have an effect on my speeds, i'm about 2.7 km's away...does this guarntee i ll get the 5meg service?

you guys can give me a call or whenever or just reply back to this msg, i'm pretty eager to order cause im' with rogers right now and its sucks bc of their throttling.

thanks guys,

ps. i was referred by astroboii to tekksavvy, that's for his 1 dollar referral or whatever.

Did you get a callback? (My experience is that they're extremely reliable for promptly returning calls.)

someone should callback tonight, there is someone in the office until 11...

That being said, until the order is finalized and the system is running and in place there is no real 100% way to guarantee speeds...we can make an educated guess, and by guessing I'd say 2.7km should get you 5meg service....providing your wiring is good(internal and external) also providing Bell has an open slot for you in the CO in question as for the network of choice, you'll most likely want the Cogent unlimited package, if you're not much into gaming but prefer to be able to download lots, that's where you want to be...

About your referral for your pal, I think you want to make mention of that in the 'comments' field of the online signup. If you didn't remember to mention it in the comments field then give a call or email to TSI, to make sure your bud gets credit.

FYI, they might want his actual TSI login name (is it astroboii, or is that his DSLreports name?!)

Have fun!
