Help? constantly need to reload of internet pages

Hi all,

I just switched to Tekksavy last Friday from Rogers, after all the great things I've heard from this and other forums about Tekksavy.

I am having an issue though that I'm having trouble resolving. For some reason, every website I visit, I get the "website not available page", and then I hit reload, and the page pops up. Never happened before with Rogers. On Saturday I called in and asked for the static IP address, and this is when the issue started. Of course it may not be the new static IP, since I didn't play around much before ordering the static IP.

I called into the Tech support, and they thought it may be a setting on my Router.

My Router is a Dlink 524a, and I am running firmware 1.23.

The Tech support thought it was an auto-reconnect setting on my router, but I verified this and it is set to enabled. (I couldn't find any other setting that may have matched what the tech support said).

I saw somewhere that reducing the MTU from 1492 to 1472 or 1452 may help, but I tried that and it didn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

How quickly does the "website not available" message appear ? 1-2 seconds ? 10 seconds ? 20 seconds ?

Are you sure your DNS settings are correct ? It could be that your primary DNS is wrong and when you hit reload, it uses the secondary DNS server and resolves you IP and the page load properly.

Since firmware 1.23 you can input your own DNS address. The default is 0.0.0.0, put the TSI DNS and try to see if it fixes the problem.

This is the exact message

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at search.ebay.com.

And the time varies from 1-2 seconds to 20 seconds

I'm not sure if DNS settings are correct or not. (not sure what they should be).
