No benefit on the upload, while I use to get a 33% boost in upload (compared to standard).
I'll either downgrade to standard, or move to FiOS when it becomes available.
I guess though to be honest, we should be reasonably happy... The old HFC networks had to be upgraded a lot to support this kind of bandwidth. Lots of node splitting. | |

Why is my upload still slower than advertised and slower than most of you guys in Schenectady? I was averaging around 4900 kb/s until I just rebooted my modem. I still have my original modem, a Toshiba PCX1000. Would that be the problem? | |

1 edit | Re: Finally ALBANY! I'm kinda hoping us premium customer get a faster upload. If it stays at 1MB I will just downgrade to regular Road Runner. I don't think RR Turbo is worth it with just 5 more MB download.
Edit: I just called Time Warner and they confirmed that standard Road Runner was 10/1 and Premium Road Runner was 15/1. I switched back to standard since I don't think it's worth it anymore. But hey atleast we got our upgrade! | |

| Yeah, like I said I can't think of many places that I can download from where I'll use that 15 down. It's totally not worth the extra money anymore.
Maybe if enough premium customers call and cancel they'll realize that there needs to be an upload increase. | |

| Re: Finally ALBANY! Are you a former Adelphia customer? If so that probably explains it. In a normal situation Standard RR is 10/1 and RR Premium is 15/1. I don't know what to tell you those are the offical speeds for the franchise.
