I was thinking it was a power ego thing myself. They talk to someone like they shit so they can feel better about themselves.
They also do it so they can feel they're smarter. Also I'm voting this a scam. If they call again I'd say ok fine I will upgrade and see what type of info they try to get. |

1 edit | reply to neufuse maybe because some of us know the whole thread was bullshit. a police officer isnt doing jack when its across the country as he stated it was. yea its a phone scam to warn someone about using VPN. most people if as mad as he said he was would post the number. we all know the police isnt going to do anything. |

You know some of us do sleep at night so we cant just post stuff in our sleep... anyways, matter was refered to the police and they are going to look into it... they think its a fraud... and all I need to do now is make them mad by getting all you guys calling a number or what not now too, and I know the second I post a number someone will call it, its just the nature of the internet anymore... |

| reply to neufuse Ok this guy called back again... and the number on the caller ID isnt even a business number, I think someone is trying to either screw with me or is trying to scam me... because I looked it up and it came back to a residance in California... Might have to get an authority involved in this because this is just getting very annoying and stupid.. and yes once i hung up on them and once they hung up on me after I made them mad |

I saw that even then they should not out right hung up on him.
It could be a scam for exp I lift my old bank account in the US open so I could still order shit from the states. My father got a call from someone saying they were calling on behalf of the bank and it was about my dept card.
However my dad forgot I had it. So when they said the name on the card I'm named after my father he no idea WTF she was talking about and the lady got bitchy with him so he got bitchy right back. She at last hung up on him. He want to bank next day and asked about it. Bank said we would never send anything to a 3rd party like that.
Also also this person knew my home phone the bank I used and guessed or knew I had a dept card. So comcast may not calling him but a scummier. The one who called my dad hung up just like the people he was taking about. When he got bitchy with them for getting bitchy with him they just hung up. |

| reply to neufuse I realize that Comcast can do whatever they want, but this would be like the phone company calling me and saying that I need to have a business line because I am CALLING businesses. Fact is, unless it has changed, the phone company considers a line as business use if it is ADVERTISED in conjunction with a business. |

Comcast called here to "warn" me about bandwidth usage... I said I don't know how that could be possible, because I couldnt be using more then what was rumored to be the limit. I said all I use at home is VPN, general browsing, and AIM chat online. Right after I said VPN they said, to connect to a workplace? I said yes, and thats when the whole don't use a VPN thing started then they started to say that was the cause blah blah blah... violates TOS... I asked how, they then proceeded to tell me about their 'business accounts' that would allow it and never really answered my question so I just hung up on them after they said the price... that looks to me like you hung up on them |

1 edit | reply to TOPDAWG said by TOPDAWG :Hm that is sure odd. Even if your braking the rules of the TOS unless you are cussing them out they should not hung up on you.
