2 edits | [TWC] 400-700 kbps after 5 in Los Angeles, CA 90026
What is going on? Everybody is talking of 10/1 speed upgrades. My RR Extreme (service level 028) never goes above 5 Mbps and come 5 p.m. it drops below 500 kbps. UL stays about the same. Exchanged modems, rolled trucks and everybody pretends not to know what's happening. I'm so sick of this lying bastards!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I'm living in a third world country.

At the moment, if you're on TWC in Los Angeles, you essentially are. They just jumped from 350,000 to 1.9 million customers (Adelphia acquisition) in the city and can't handle the volume at the moment. |

| They really need to continue to be hit with the cancellation rate they have received since the change over. Lost customers/revenue is the only thing that gets a business' attention. If you're not happy with the service, have the conviction to follow your complaint with a cancellation letter/phone call. You can always come back when the performance improves and the service meets your expectations. Posting here with you dis-satisfactions will do nothing. |

| Well I think it gives me at least some consolation that I'm not the only one. And believe me I've been on hold with them for hours and hours. Cancellation is not really an option because the other big corporation that treats this supposedly less affluent neighborhoods like sh** is ATT. They will only give me 1200 DL which does not work for me. |

@dslextreme.com | You guys have no choice but to stick with TW. If you cancel then where are you gonna go? You don't have FIOS and DSL is slower and more expensive. They know this and that is why they don't care. |

| I'm in 90022 and this is what I am getting at 11am Saturday morning:

I'm paying 54.95. Is this the premium service? I am not sure since I was paying for 4mb/s from Adelphia and I never really look at my paper statements.
I am also having a problem with my Motorola SB5101 losing its ip constantly. I'm trying to figure out if it is my modem itself or not. Rebooting the modem gets me up and running again. -- Did I TELL YOU to right click? |

1 edit | reply to kbowden Hi All --
Welcome to my country! Please to look over this thread -- there is some explanation of what is going on in SoCal and with previous Adelphia customers:
»West Hollywood Road Runner Extreme no longer 10 Mbps!!!??
You should complain - without being a butt about it. You should ask them nicely to either provide the level of service we were promised or make some concessions on your monthly bill. You should also file a complaint with the city you live in. This info should be on your Time-Robber Cable bill - under the paragraph labeled "Local Franchise Authority".
I'm patently waiting for FIOS to appear at my house. At least then I will have a choice.
cheers /g -- I read it in an email - so it must be true. |

| Well, it is 2:50 pm on this same Saturday and (bypassing my router) gets me:

I am wondering if it is really my router that is messing things up. As I stated before, my router loses DHCP connectivity with my SB5100. When I reboot the SB5100 (without rebootng the router) all is fine.
I'm going to keep it direct to my computer for a couple of days and see what happens. I have an old BEFW11s4 and I've been looking for an excuse to get a Linksys GL series. Maybe now is the time. -- Did I TELL YOU to right click? |

For now I just watch the complaints in here and when they get resolved (and 10/1 is really working) I'll be back. -- "Canada" = economically, militarily, politically, and culturally irrelevant. |

1 edit | reply to dunworkin It is true that there's no cancellation fee -- but I've spent too much time with customer service and have had way too many promises that this would be fixed.
I still have the same issue mentioned in original post -- less than 500kbps down after 5 pm, 4Mbps down during the days, and consistently 400k up.

| Hah, you're lucky, here's mine:
I'm in San Diego, it has been like this for the past 4 days. I'm really starting to get pissed off. During the day, I get around 6M, at night, I get about 7Kbps. I'm thinking of switching to Cox even though I only have 2 more months in this place. |
