I went to a workshop recently and the photographer there was using a product from photodex, for slideshows. I'm planning to check them out when I get paid.

Nice links by the way.

Interesting. I'm working on moving from Coppermine (which was *way* more than I needed and wound up being too complicated to upload photos) to a custom script. I have a local Windows Scripting Host script that copies the photos to a temporary location (so the originals aren't touched), rotates them based on EXIF info (using ImageMagik), resizes them (ImageMagik) and generates thumbnails (ImageMagik again). Then the script mass FTPs them to my server.

On the server, an ASP page reads the "album" folder and uses each subfolder as a gallery section. The thumbnails and photos are displayed using JQuery and the Interface Elements plugin. I've even put in bookmarking capabilities (something many AJAX apps lack).

It's still a work in progress, but you can check it out at: »www.levinephotos.com/Redesign/

If anyone is interested in the automation script, I'd be happy to post it.

I`m just uploading and trying the Photodex one even if there is supposed to a vulnerability with it. But that could have been with earlier versions ...

i had one a while back that i can't find now.

it was a photoshop addin, the gallery was very simple, just a page of all the thumbnails, and when you clicked on any photo it would "zoom" in, then you would click a again to zoom out and click another photo....anybody know which one that was?

Gallery2 just released their newest version which supports webdav folders.

Which in a nutshell means that I simply open up a network folder. copy my images &/or folders full of images into the network location and whammo instantly posted.

Thanks! I recently purchased a domain and web hosting. I was having a little trouble with my database in msql, was trying use coppermine.

Now since I can't figure it out, I'm looking for something a little more 'simple'.

Hey Wyatt, if you want something simpler to set up that still looks great, try MG2. It's what I'm using at the link in my sig. Takes maybe ten minutes total to set up and is very easy to post and use (no MySQL database required). Even has a slideshow feature.

If you don't like it, you can delete it and you've only wasted a few minutes of your time.

Here's the link to thier site.

F-Spot for the Gnome Desktop does many things, one of which is exporting to an HTML gallery. It can send to Picasa, Flickr, or a self-contained HTML gallery viewable in any web browser. While the application is designed to run on Linux, the HTML gallery is obviously platform independent and could be exported to a web server or USB thumb drive (no web server necessary) for viewing anywhere.
