| reply to jdmt It's a wireless WAN card. In many parts of the world the wireless phone networks has been upgraded to 3G (3rd Gen mobile technology) to allow high speed Internet/data traffic. Currently in the US Cingular has some sort of 3G network speed, as well as Verizon with their EVDO... Not quite sure which one the Zywall 5 support now.
Ok, found out that the Zywall 5 currently will only support Sierra Wireless 850/860 3G Wireless WAN cards, and in the U.S. only the 860 is available (through AT&T/Cingular). |

| reply to Brano Hey guys! So far new fw running good. The only problem that I found with time updates. Usually I logging in to the z5 once a day. So since I installed new fw time always about 60-80 sec behind the real time. Whenever I press synchronise it will get correct time and the next day behind again. If I remember correctly it used to update time every sometime on previous generation of fw, but now looks like it wont do it unless you press synchronise.
Please confirm guys.
Thanks in advance |

| reply to Brano Yes it does updates once a day, but in my case it is always about 2 min behind correct time. Once it will update time it keeps it correct for about 1 hr, after that it starts to run behind. Seems like something affecting RTC on my unit. I hope I'm not up to RMA yet.
Will try to reset it again, may be it will help.
Thanks guys. |

| I had to go back to previous firmware. My router kept rebooting on its own. I found this when I would have to wait for web pages and looked over and saw the red light flash and it rebooted. I know for sure it was doing it when I was trying to go to www.windowsupdate.com. Not sure the is the cause but since going back it has not rebooted once. |
