Please return to the actual topic. An actual speed upgrade to 16/1 or 16/2 will be reflected in measures of actual download and upload. Now that PowerBoost is out there, a speed test result does not necessarily indicate you have received this sustained speed cap upgrade. If you cannot show the sustained speed both up and down, please don't claim the upgrade has been received. And please don't continue with the PowerBoost posts in this thread.

4 edits | I mean a download or upload of a large file to/from a site you know is capable of your cap speeds. Take screenshots of the speeds during the process, perhaps at about 50 percent of the entire process. Do that at different times of the day to see what your best speed might be when traffic is down. That's the best way I know to see what the actual speed capability might be. Personally, I would use FTP to from my domain's hosting site, but that is an individual thing depending on your location.
The speed tests don't tell me much that is useful to me about my connection anymore, especially now that we have PowerBoost up and down.
Edit: Another way to tell if you actually have that upgrade is if you happen to have a modem which reveals the ISP cap limits. Some do, but probably most do not.
My Linky BEFCMU10 V.4 modem, for example, shows the provisioned download rate is: Provisioned Rate 8800 kbps
Older versions of that modem, I understand, show the name of the cap file from the ISP which will tell you where your cap is if you know how to read the file names.

But this thread is about the Blast 16/1 and 16/2 tiers, not Powerboost. These are sustained speed tiers.

I didn't realize Comcast had two flavors of the bandwidth upgrade. Can you point me to a thread or source that describes the sustained 16/1 and 16/2 upgrade. If you read the entire thread, I think you'll find numerous times where members have tried to explain the difference between the 16/1 or 16/2 actual speed upgrade and how it isn't the same thing as PowerBoost.
