I feel that warrants a 'thumbs up' for you!

(Hope I don't change my mind!)

So is that why everyone now sees any thumbs given by anyone to an anon poster? I just asked about this in Need Site Help. Are thumbs not private if given to anon posters?

I assume there is a reason for everyone seeing any thumbs given to anons but what is it? This means we all can see thumbs down as well as up given to anon? If so, I don't think that is a good idea. That could lead to bad things such as what happened when we could give thumbs up and down here and everyone saw. One of the finest things about this site is the policy regarding anon posting. I don't think that should be tampered with and letting everyone see any thumbs, good or bad, given to anon posters is not the way to encourage anon posting or encourage anon posters to become members.

since anons could see thumbs, then anyone could see thumbs (if they logged out) so it is silly to hide them to those logged in. Since anons can be given thumbs down it is silly to hide thumbs down and only show thumbs up.

I'm satisfied with the way it works now, it is quite a trivial subject anyway. If you don't want to be "seen" to take sides then don't vote on anon posts.

Take my advice.. I don't use it anyways.

What do I use for I See People to remove those thumbs? I don't have any interest in seeing them.

Most likely, any code that removed those would also remove all thumbs...

That's ok with me. I tried using RIP extension on it and it removes the name of the person giving the thumb and it removed the name from a thumb given me too. But if necessary, I would prefer to not see thumbs given to me if that is the only way to not see those thumbs others have given anon posters. I really do not want to see that. It is distracting and prejudical to me. (Besides one can pretty much tell who gave thumbs by the posts in the thread). I realize that some/many/most? may like the feature and that is fine with me. I just want to opt out.

So, what code do I use? RIP removes the Forum titles when removing thumbs. I tried to be very careful with RIP too. I would like to see the title of the forum I'm in. So, removing it via I See People would be much better (even if it means I can't see thumbs given to me). Didn't we used to be able to see the thumbs given us on a tab on the postlist page? I don't see that now but I thought that used to be there.

Please explain with more details, what did you fix. And why?

I have heard: If it is ain't broken, you don't fix it.

It seems after readng »Error with private thumb(s) that you broke it.
