Boost in Braintree, MA ?
If it is PowerBoost, you're in the wrong thread. If it is actually Blast, your modem info pages should show that and you would likely have ordered the upgrade and would be charged for it? Is any of that true? If not, then what evidence do you have this is an actual upgrade to 16/1?

Yep, just checked bill. It says Blast! - Will Blast! eventually become "Powerboost?"

No, Blast will not become PowerBoost.

PowerBoost is a temporary burst in speed above caps, very temporary and very shortlived. It may help download/upload tiny files faster, but doesn't increase speed for large files. It does make a lot of people very happy when they do speed tests because many, not understanding what PowerBoost is, think they have higher caps.

Blast is an actual speed upgrade, raising the cap to around 16000kbps/1000kbps, such as evidenced here: »Re: Post here if Blast is available in your area-Not PowerBoost

At this point, I think it would show up in your bill: »Re: Post here if Blast is available in your area-Not PowerBoost

Since it raises the price of your service over the cost of the other tiers, I should think you would have to sign up for it. What we are trying to find out in this thread is which areas have this additional speed available and whether or not it is probably being introduced in competition with FIOS in that area.

I have upgraded to Blast 16/1 and no longer see any effects of powerboost.....
