For now I have two new Seagate 320GB (7200.10 series) drives in a RAID1 array
To keep the drives cool I added an ultra quiet (8.7db) Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D 120mm low speed fan blowing across the upper drive cage
Antec P180B case
Antec TruePower Trio-650 power supply
Acer 22 wide screen 5ms LCD display
Windows Vista Ultimate
All in all a very fast and amazingly quiet system
Added: A new Netgear GS608 8-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch for my network and a Netgear GA311 card for my old PC (now server).
Planned: Phase II (in a couple of months) will add four Seagate 750GB (also 7200.10 series) drives in the second cage of my new system. I'll be configuring these as a single data volume using hardware RAID5. -- "Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--
