Re: [Poll] Anti-Trojan Poll 2007

Nice poll KiwiAussie, thanks !

I voted for BOClean, TrojanHunter, The Cleaner, Tauscan.

I use BOClean resident, and TrojanHunter and The Cleaner on-demand (XP-home).

And on my old Win98SE machine I also have Tauscan (on-demand), although I hardly use Tauscan.
PS: Agnitum will end Tauscan on 1-January-2008.

Thanks for the poll, KiwiAussie!
I rely first on KIS for any nasties that may get thru.
Also been a long time user of BOClean, but I must admit I am starting to have doubts on it's total effectiveness.
Also find Prevx1 to be a useful, added tool.

I don't rely on anything.
I have KIS on this machine and avast on others. They are both turned all the way up.
I see the occasional warning from my AV that something was killed during a download.
YAY for web scanning!

I scan regularly with a *few* various scanners(entertainment purposes mainly).

I use the following:

1) Returnil Virtual System to keep anything from making changes to my System Partition

2) NOD32 Resident scanner (incoming files and e-mail) and nightly full system scans when the computer is idle

3) Sysinternals/MS Process Monitor to watch for suspicious process activity

I voted BOClean, a-squared, and other... other = Avira which is one of if not THE strongest AV that also handles worms and trojans and polymorphic viruses

NOD32 is an anti-virus by name, but it is technically a anti-trojan as well which is what I use.

Thank you for the poll, Hutch See Profile.

I voted BOClean. I also voted for my AV (NAV 2006) which is set on maximum paranoia mode.

My setup works for me. Anything more is overkill.

If something slips through, there is always a pristine image I can restore from.

Nice job on the poll Hutch See Profile.

I voted for and use BOClean (resident) and A2 on demand along with others, such as Ewido/Avg, UnHackMe and my AV (Avast).

Same for me 'cuz I bought TH a long time before I switched from NIS to KIS. Don't get me wrong, NIS worked very well on my old 98se box but when I got my new 'puter a few months ago I decided to go with KIS and have been very happy with it!

Unlike KiwiAussie (btw, isn't that a name a little oxymoronic?? ), I let TH stay resident. I've had no conflicts with both KIS and TH running that way.

LOL only if your a Kiwi that Lives in Aussie.

I prefer to have just KIS running. I have had TH running in the past with KIS, without conflict as well.

I just see no need to have both running at the same time.

Well, that begs the question: why would a Kiwi relocate to Oz?

I've visited both and although I really enjoyed Australia, I absolutely loved NZ! I could easily retire to NZ and have really thought about it!

BTW, thanks for the poll!
