If you think your story is bad, listen to mine..
Signed up for $70 for TV and 20/5 internet.. Gave them my credit card info when ordering service..
Credit card was charged $247.xx (1.5 months). Checked the amount and they billed me FULL price ($43 for TV and $50 for Internet), instead of $70 for both..
If gets better..
I called them and after an hour of transfer from verizon phone service to verizon phone service ( I dont have landline with verizon), I finally get fios rep.. then they said, ohh, we are not billing, hold.. and put me bakc into Verizon phone service line.. After another hour I finally get fios billing.. Got a gentleman from America.. He was pretyt polite and goes: Ohh, you will get your 12 months for that price, whenever we fix the billing error, he he wasnt sure when this would happen. I said: NO, it doesnt work that way, I signed up for 12 months of $70/month price from beginning. He put me on hold for 5 minutes and said, I'll give you credit.. I also made him waive the $20 setup fee, which was agreed upon when I signed up for service in the very beginning..
Here is gets better yet... He said, my new total is $187.xx is due.. So I go to verizon.com\billview and pay that exact amount he told me. I see that amount debited from my Checking account next time.. Then I login to my Credit Card web site and here it is $247 debited as before..
So I go through hooplas getting back to fios billing and when I finally get a rep, I ask: When is my balance?
She goes, ohh u owe us $227, because u got some $20 credit.. I said whenever Happened to my credit card and Checking account payments? She saiud, she doesnt see that in the system.. I said: U must be kidding me, as I was looking on the web sites for cc and checking acocunt and see 2 amounts debited.. She put me on hold and said: my manager sees the $247 debit from credit card, but there is no record of $187.xx being charged.. I explained the situation and said I expect immediate credit of $247.xx that verizon owes me.. She asked to fax her the statements and she will look into this and call me right back.. Time was 8:40am ET Friday.. 2pm I still dont have a call. So I fax papers again with request to have that rep to call me back.. It Sunday night and still nothing..
Can anyone give me fios billing direct number? and Anyone has Verizon fios corporate offices numbers? AT this point I need to get them involved, this is plain nightmare CS and theift of customers funds...
Any input appreciated..

Kind of makes me wonder if they are extremely incompetent or if they try to get aweay with it and whoever calls gets the "I'm sorry it was an error" and whoever doesn't catch it loses out.

I'd say it's not anyone looking to do what you describe. It could be human error or as we've all seen, the systems are antiquated and not well integrated. I myself haven't had an issue with fios, but had a rough time dealing with billing when combining the wireless and wired bills before we even had fios.
