So you want to keep the 0.1% of your customers that are abusing your service and impacting the pleasure of your other 99.9% I see. Hob You completely missed my point. Which is that at no time are treating my customers like crap acceptable. Regardless of the situation you always maintain a professional respectful demeanor and you go out of your way to help your customers fix the problem/s.
Even in worse case scenarios when you need to cut ties with a customer you do so as humbly as possible. Of course anyone who really reads the countless threads here on this subject sees the bulk of the complaints are not the limits, but the arbitrary, we cant tell you, but will terminate your account if you exceed, limits. |

Then you ask how fast can you go, the cop says, I cant tell you, but just dont do it again. Having no idea or help from Comcast what too much is, but being the conscientious customer that you are, you do lower you usage. Then next month, with even lower usage, but having no idea what is acceptable, you find out your over, and your account closed. Comcastic! |

There are signs posted on the hiway stating how fast you can drive. If no signs are not posted than how do you know what your speed limit is? And when the Comcast cop pulls you over he merely tells you to "slow down". -- Macintosh Users Group Serving the Inland Empire |

2 edits | reply to JTRockville Doing so would put the public relations onus back on the people who are allegedly bringing the network to its knees (which is horse shit and everyone knows it).
Set an alarm (they don't really even need to tell people what the threshold is which should keep the fangrrlz and apologists happy) and enter an email address or text message ID to notify when it goes off. Customer ignores alarm at own peril.
Pretty easy stuff. There are thousands of systems out there just like this from bandwidth alarms to tornado warnings to Aurora Borealis alerts. Hell, even make is a "premium feature".
But for god's sake, Comcast, please stop treating your customers like they've been poisoning puppies. -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |

Precisely! If Comcast subscribers, rather than Comcast engineers, are tasked with policing network traffic, it would be a trivial task to provide subscribers with the information necessary to accomplish the task. |

| reply to NOCMan said by NOCMan :It's high time someone was smart enough to record one of these calls. The CS agent refusing to give his name and threatening to cut off your service in some cases could be grounds for a harassment suit. I do not have comcast anymore, but I'd love for one of them to call me on my cell so I could record it if I still had HSI. Recording phones call is illegal in some states. He could end up in jail, a fine, plus it would not be allowed in in court. |

Best thing about this.... Their business accounts ALSO have an AUP for "excessive, continual use", however only costs $150/mo for the 8MB plan. Install is something like $200. I have the quote in front of me right here. I love these scare tactics. Not a scare tactic. Comcast offers Enterprise services with extreme speeds (is 1 Gbps fast enough for you?) and no limits, although the price is considerably more than $150/mo.
