Boost with a little extra speed. Anybody else?

Normally my boost connection is averaging about 28.8mb
measured with DU Meter. This morning I noticed 32 to 32.89mb
averaging. This is not short burst it's 30 second average.

Not wishing to rub it in, too all those with boosting problems
(re: Not getting it). But has anybody else noticed it?
I was doing article downloading from usenetserver. So
many hops were involved.

Is this a quirk? New firmware? My modem bonding the OV
channel into OOL flow? A temporary event?

----------------------------
now a side question. Since I have the boost. What is
the webhosting provided/included by ool? I noticed the
increase to 1GB. Funny now I got more or what I didn't
know I had. I tried to get info but OOL .net site is
lacking on this subject.

Well I don't come here often, The message from last month
only says one thing. They are screwing with us. You can dip
your toes in the pond but you can go swimming.

Any clues to my side question?

I was just saying that it happened to me and I posted the replies I got. No one expected you to search.

I didn't see it as a flaming. Since OOL has completed system
upgrades. I only assume they are testing the waters.
Possibly to give boost an extra boost. This is all in
response to FIOS. NYC/CT/NJ/LI is a major BB market.

Why do you think the dolans want to take Optimum back to
private hands and out of public stocks. Follow the money!!!

Well, to answer your first question, I've never seen in excess of 30 mb/s with Boost. I consistently get ~26-17 mb/S from servers that can feed at that rate, and using FlashGet to maximize download throughput.

I can't answer your second question. I have no interest in using OOL for web hosting so I never looked in to it.

Either go directly to »webhosting.optonline.net or log into the homepage @ »optonline.net and select one of the hosting management options. Some screen captures are attached. To access your domain email directly, you can go to »sitemail.yourdomain.tld

I also have BOOST and have enjoyed the advertised speeds of ~26-28mbps. The speed test sites seem to like my connection Otherwise, in actual usage, I see ~26mbit from usenet and large public ftps. Colocated machines don't do as well but still give me 1.5-2.0MB/s, depending where it is. Overseas works very well as I have relatives and friends in Sweden and often transfer files spanning the Atlantic.
