So far, so good! Not quite Mac-like, but not bad either ... problem is that I keep reaching for the top of the screen to hit the menu.

I'm trying the Mac beta and most of Safari's annoying javascript incompatibilities are gone.

For reasons not only related to Safari, I hope to take a dip into the world of Mac's as soon as my laptop or desktop dies, whatever comes first.

I'm guessing it's probably more along the lines of trying to get more sites to tolerate Safari so there's less problems with the iPhone.

That doesn't make sense. The iPhone runs OSX, how would an app for it run on Windows?

Would also allow Windows-based iPhone app developers to easily test their stuff.

Agreed. Although like the Webkit nightly build it seems to give me trouble when posting on this site. Seems to forget to submit what I've typed. Very fast on both platforms though. Love it!

Ew. A good anti-bacterial soap will take care of that.

I've switched over to Safari for my default for now. Working very well and very fast. The new AT&T/Yahoo mail beta craps out (not surprising), but the older version is noticably faster than FF or IE.

Looks like it sucked in all of my FF previously vistited sites automatically--no bookmarks loaded, but all I have to do is start typing an address and it auto-completes. Sweet.

Noticed something interesting while posting this...if you right-click in posting window, you can change the writing direction (L to R, and R to L). I can't seem to select the other direction though.

So far a great beta, but of course time (and bug finds) will tell the tale.

Edit: oh! and you can change the order of tabs easily by dragging and dropping.

Try dragging a tab off the tab bar; the tab will come off and make itself a new window. And vice-versa!

Add edit: Hotmail/Window Live Mail still not supported with Safari 3. It still tells me that I need IE 6 or Firefox 1.5 and higher to support the advanced features of Hotmail. But, Hotmail still works though.

Even though I love Firefox and use it nearly exclusively (I use IE for listening to Sirius online), I am looking forward to trying Safari out, once it's out of Beta.

A quick Google.....

Safari, Apple’s turbo-charged web browser, uses Bonjour to find any web addresses on your local network — for printer, router or webcam setup and administration, for instance. With the help of Bonjour, iChat AV lets you see which people are available for chatting or video conferencing on your local network, and automatically removes them when they leave. iTunes and iPhoto also use Bonjour to facilitate sharing music and photos on local networks.

Re: Safari Beta For Windows

I have one problem using Safari on my Windows laptop running Vista. My Logitech MX610 mouse back and forth buttons don't seem to work. They do with both IE7 and Firefox but not with Safari.

A pet peeve that I uncovered...if you stop at a spot on the site, halfway down say, most browsers will snap back to that spot after a refresh. Safari is sending me back to the top of the page.

Anyone else getting that also?
