said by nccycle :That arrow doesn't show the past 20 links visited when you first open a window. At least for me that arrow on the far right of the address bar only takes me back to the original page I opened when I opened the window. Works for me with Safari 3 beta on OS X. |

| reply to Johnny When you first open Safari and you want to see the places you surfed to yesterday then just go to the History menu and choose from the last 5 days to see where you have been.

Assuming it works the same in Windows as on the Mac... |

What the hell is wrong with people? Did he think I wrote this Press means hold down the mouse button (a 1984 Mac term, one of {Click, Press, Double-Click}).
just to exercise my keyboard? Oh let me guess - he "skimmed" (translation: didn't read) it. Are we talking about the same thing here? I can press it (thought you were being sarcastic by giving the def), hold it for a minute on either of those two arrows. I can do the double dutch on it, its not showing me anything because they are not highlighted. |

1 edit | reply to Johnny said by Johnny :said by SeminoleRob :I installed it last night. Pretty fast. Couple of issues (1)There isn't a pulldown arrow on the browser address to look at the places you have been. All 3 other browsers have it. Press on the Back or Forward icons in the upper left corner. Press means hold down the mouse button (a 1984 Mac term, one of {Click, Press, Double-Click}). So, open Safari and all the places I have been will be there by just hitting the back and forward buttons? Nope, doesn't work.
I can hit my arrow on Firefox or IE and see the last 20 places I've been. Safari doesn't have this, and that is one thing I like about a browser.
Gee, I never would have figured out how to press a button |

Are you waiting for the page to reload completely? I just tested it on one of my XP boxes, scrolling down one page, clicking a link and then returning, and after the page completely reloaded, it jumped down to where I was before. If I follow a link (as you suggest) and then go back, then refresh returns to the correct spot. If I just go to the page and then scroll down (not travelling to another page), then refresh goes to top of page. Once the scroll point has been established, it always returns to that point on refresh, regardless of where I might scroll to before hitting refresh. Gack. Refresh, I didn't test that. -- Iraq Coalition Deaths | bobrk |
