Not because the EasyList is mine, but you really shouldn't use Filterset.G with Adblock Plus (article by the author of Adblock Plus):
»adblockplus.org/blog/sorry-filte···ou-to-go

Also, the EasyElement is specifically made to be a 'secondary filter' to the EasyList, NOT with Filterset.G.

If you also don't like to be tracked by sites or tracking companies, go back to the link that DownLow posted and also add the ABP Tracking Filter. I would suggest the EasyList, EasyElement, and ABP Tracking Filter as these are all maintained by myself and are 'matched' to work with each other (really this is NOT a self-promo. Most all here have used them for quite a while and seem to be very happy)

Yep, they're mine.

You'll notice that I respond quickly here to Adblock Plus questions. There are only 3 forums that I regularly check for Adblock Plus and EasyList questions for help and support. One is the Adblock Plus forum .. one is my EasyList forum ... and the third is right here.

The folks here used and encouraged my filtering when they were just used by about 15,000 people. I now have 1.35 million steady subscribers to the EasyList (easily surpassing filterset.g) ... but I will never forget this forum simply because I always remember the encouragement here . I also really like the people here too ... much better than some other forums.

I really don't advertise much, jesse ... and I certainly don't have to advertise HERE. Most of the members on the Mozilla topic here have been using my filters longer than most other subscribers have. My subscriptions have grown big mostly from word of mouth and because Adblock Plus promotes them as THE subscription to use in that program.

But I just wanted to make sure that if you used the EasyElement subscription (which is only a secondary subscription) ... that you used it with the EasyList as that is what it was made to work with. I really don't know what would happen if you used it with someone else's subscription as the EasyElement was created to be 'matched' to the EasyList ... and nothing else. They should be a single filter really. I just keep them separate to make it easier to troubleshoot problems (one blocks ... one hides).

Just go out and surf, then tell me what you think. And if you have any problems, you know where to get in touch

Yep rick752 See Profile and his Lists Rock! Switched over long, long ago as that G-thingy was stalled in development; and never looked back; the internet is oh-so more pleasant, and a bit safer, with Wladimir(Adblock Plus) & Rick's dedicated, great work.

@ chachazz:

You have the most interesting avatars ... is that a leaf waving?

I've got to admit the one on Gladiator is the most bizarre and interesting one that I've ever seen. What IS that?

Ha, ha

That's quite flattering, Jesse, but I don't feel that way. I'm just "Rick" here. I've been part of this board for a year and a half and these people are my friends in here. I just have had an insane passion for what I do which probably makes what I do work so well. It's not because of advertising that I have this passion.... it's because of OVER-advertising, deceptive ads, and privacy invasion that I do this! The greed out there is unbelievable. Just mouse-over the ABP icon on any given site (nice on DSLR: "0 out of 55 blocked") and try to find something that doesn't contain about 10 different 'blocks' of advertising or more. It's enough to make you sick!!!!

God, like we don't get enough of this crap on TV already?

I'm an ex-Filterset.G user as well and just like the author of Adblock Plus suggests I've found a couple of false positives myself. And when I whitelisted that site all the ads come up. Suggestions were taken with a grain of salt in the Filterset.G forums and I never got a resolution, so I ditched those filters and never looked back. Also Filterset.G updates are few and in between and rick752 See Profile updates a lot more often I'd bet once a day or at most once a week. I don't really know I'm just guessing there.

rick752 See Profile personally I can't take credit for the popularity of your filters, I think your hard work and dedication is what drives people towards your filters. Keep up the good work!

Funny you say that as I remember decades ago when CableTV Providers promised no or limited ads to their subscribers and now you can not watch a show without a 5 minute ad block every 15 minutes. That lasted about a day and the ads have multiplied like Tribbles.

It all depends on what page you are on here. I may have done it on another page or something (screenshots and avatars add a lot of extra). Just getting 0 out of 36 here now.

***EDIT. It increases to the 50's when you are in the REPLY mode (all posts PLUS smileys and extra scripts).
