| Nastygram Received I got an email from Comcast about 1 DMCA violation for downloading a TV show that I don't remember downloading. Kind of scary that they can monitor everything you do. I am going to check with my friends to see what one of them was doing. The letter was pretty much a form letter from a few weeks ago. I rarely check my comcast email.
Should I be worried? | |

| Re: Nastygram Received Not knowing what the letter says, most "First Time" letters are a warning.
Nuke the file(if it exists) and back off the downloading - although, most of the time "they" are bitching about you providing/having it available for others to obtain(uploading).
Investigate, see if one of your friends has been downloading and/or sharing(uploading) TV shows.

| Re: Nastygram Received I remember now, reviewing the date. I had a neighbor whose DSL was down and I allowed them to wirelessly use my connection for a weekend. I won't make that mistake again. It's not RIAA.

| Re: Nastygram Received OK I talked to my neighbor today. And I made it a point to WATCH the show, which I'd barely heard of on the outskirts. I thought it was HILARIOUS and I am not a fan of American sitcoms, they are mostly stupid.
So what harm did this do? Get someone to watch a show that was not familiar with it? How stupid. | |

Its hard to gauge the impact and the damage it could do.
It is quite a good show....and as already pointed out available to view on line.
