Many VOIP providers let you bring your own adapter or device (BYOD) instead of supplying it for you. (The Gizmo that came with your SunRocket service is an example of an adapter. But it may be locked to your SunRocket service and not usable with other services, unless you want to try unlocking it.)
The advantage of owning your own adapter is that you can easily move it from one provider to another, or use it for two or more providers at once. The disadvantage is that you have to configure its settings for each provider. But the people in this forum can help you with that.
Voxilla is one place where you can buy adapters. The Linksys 1000 and 2000 series models are popular with members of this forum. -- 50775@fwd.pulver.com |

| Okay, I have my adapter unlocked and I thought I had all of the parameters right for my VoiceStick number. Can ANYONE send me their parameters for the AC-211. I need it all because obviously one little item isn't right and I can't find it. Any help with it from someone that has a functioning AC-211 on "VoiceStick" will be GREATLY appreciated. PLEASE!!
Thanks, Gramps |
