To anyone that got the ATA Did they ship it out next day Like they said? Not me they shipped it ground and its been a week now and my number isn't ported in 24- 48hrs like they were promising. and when they shipped my ata ground they want a Direct signature where you have to be home. it was probably close to $15 dollars for the shipping with the direct signature for a $30 ATA. I already want to cancel. If fedex comes again tomorrow while im not here the 3rd and final attempt. i hope they send it back to joiphone. The offer for 24-48 hour porting has since expired and was only available if your number was with the same CLEC as JoiPhone. If you did not meet that criteria, like me, all they and other providers can do is submit the request to the appropriate CLEC and hope for the best. Considering that there are potentially 200K requests going to the various CLEC's, they have to be swamped. My request for porting went in on the 18th and has not been completed yet. Also the next day shipment expired late Wednesday night, which is when they took it off the Web site.

If you read their "about us" statement then go to their parent company Hawk VoIP LLC and read the same you will think differently.
I managed to get thru to Tech Support in a little more than one minute yesterday afternoon. Apparently they had serious problems with their phone system company wide and they have since resolved the issue. They resolved all of my issues quickly and in a very professional manner. See my post »Has Anyone Gone With JoiPhone??

| reply to jeffnyc I just took the plunge and signed up this AM. Got a message from support stating they will be sending my SIP CREDS soon. I hope so. I'm also porting my Signature only number to them. Their web interface is not very pretty but functional none the less. I can't use my phone at all right now, as the forward option is not available until you connect. So I have a phone number that goes nowhere. |

1 edit | reply to jeffnyc Tried signing up with Joiphone - no luck. I had emailed support to see about my availability, took almost 24 hours to get a response. I'm not in one of their areas. Guess since I wasn't going to be a customer or hadn't already signed up, I didn't rate a "timely" response. theGrinch |

| reply to jeffnyc Well it's not a matter of having INSX pm'ing me the settings because I still need the SIP password to my account which needs to be provided by Joiphone.
But ask and I shall receive! Literally minutes after I posted my previous message, I got my settings from Joiphone emailed to me, followed by another email saying that "according to our records we emailed you the configuration already." They must've been checking the forums here.
So far... the quality is great! Mind you I've only had the service for about 15 minutes, so I haven't really put it through its paces yet, but haven't detected any echoes, no chopping, and best of all, I AM ABLE TO SEND FAXES!!! |

| reply to cornflakes So far, so good.
Better sound quality than SR; no delay, no chopping, no echo, even when browsing the web and using the phone at the same time.
Me likes JoiPhone ...
Now, I just have to wait for them to port my old SR phone number. |

| reply to jeffnyc Have fun trying to get the SIP proxy info and password from them so you can BYOD. I've been trying the past two days, and so far, nothing. It says right on their site for previous SunRocket customers to sign up for any plan, and BYOD. You'll see in their config instructions page (which is missing some stuff) that you'll need the SIP proxy and password e-mailed to you after you sign up. Then if you read the fine print at the bottom, they say to send them a message to their support address, and after they've confirmed your info, they'll e-mail the proxy and password to you.
After signing up for the two year plan, and three messages later, they still haven't provided it to me. They told me in their reply to my second message (first was not answered at all) that I did not have a need for that info, because they already sent out my ATA. BUT, I won't have it for six days (FedEx tracking number), and so I'd like to BMOD for now, but they haven't come through with what their web page says they'll do. So far, I haven't heard of anyone that JoiPhone has followed up with on this, and actually given them the proxy and password info so that they can BYOD. |

I know, its still a good deal $150 for a year of unlimited service. |
